How Much Hair Should I Order?
This is one of the questions our team gets asked the most, and the answer is: it depends on the goal. Adding a little fullness takes much less hair than taking someone from a bob to long.
So before you think about packs, think about the goal. We break it into three looks- fullness, length, and transformation. Below is what we'd order for each, AND what to look at in the chair before you decide.
Before you order, look at these things:
- Your client's starting density and weight line. Is their hair fine, medium, thick, or ultra-blunt? This is what moves you up or down within each range below. Thicker, blunter hair needs more extension hair to match the density.
- Where their hair is now vs. where they want it. The bigger the jump in length, the more hair it takes to blend without a visible line.
- The method you're using. Individuals, Invisible Tape, and Genius Weft all come in different pack sizes, so the number of packs changes even when the goal doesn't.
If you're stuck between two amounts, go with the higher one. Being a pack short shows in the finished result. Plus, an extra pack can go towards building your backstock!

Adding Fullness
This is for the client who likes their length but wants more of it. Their ends are thin, or they want more body and a fuller ponytail. We're not adding length here, just density, so you need less hair than you'd think: about 20 to 60 grams.
That works out to:
- Individuals: 1–3 packs
- Tapes: 1–3 packs
- Genius Weft: 1 row
Stay at the low end for fine hair, and go up toward 60 grams if the client already has a good amount of their own hair.

Adding Length
This is where a lot of stylists under-order. For length to look natural, the ends have to be as full as the rest of the hair. That usually means doubling the client's natural density. If you skimp on hair, you'll see where their hair stops and the extensions start.
On average, we recommend:
- Individuals: 4–8 packs
- Tapes: 4–6 packs
- Genius Weft: 2–3 packs
Where you land in that range depends on the client's starting density. A client with fine hair might need only 4 packs of individuals, and a client with thick hair could need all 8.
Shown in colors 8, 10 and 24.

Transformation
This is for a client going from a bob to long hair, or making any big change where most of what you see will be extension hair. You're building the whole shape, not just blending, so it takes the most hair.
We suggest about:
- Individuals: 8–12 packs
- Tapes: 6–8 packs
- Genius Weft: 3–4 packs
With a transformation, running short partway through the install is the worst thing that can happen. If you're unsure, order the higher amount.
Shown in colors 26 and 29.
